A few photos taken over the past year.

Bay of Rainbows:

Taken with an Astronomics AT6RC scope, modified Ultima barlow working at about 2.8x and modified Canon Rebel XS using a freeware Liveview capture program (used only the green channel). Stacked with another freeware program called AviStack.

Trifid Nebula:

Taken with the same scope and camera, using the Canon Remote software that came with the camera. Stacked with Deep Sky Stacker and processed in photoshop.

Deneb area superwidefield (warning, 5000x3000, very large file!):

This was a project I planned for the summer, but didn't get a chance to finish. Imaging setup was Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens at 70mm and stopped down to f5, same camera as above, same processing. This is a mosaic of several panes, each one I think got about 4-5 hours of exposure. Yeah, I ran out of time. Wink

This one is not from my back yard, it's actually from a cabin near Yellowstone, where we vacationed at the end of September. Darkest skies I saw in my life, the milky way actually shone on the ground. I used my field kit on this one, a nexstar slt mount on a wedged tripod, carrying a bracket I made to balance the guider on one side, a meade dsi pro and old manual focus 200mm lens, and my imager on the other, the 70-200mm lens (working at 200mm) and the modded XS. The kit worked exceptionally well, except my skills at getting the alignment properly in total darkness was not the best. You can see the field rotation in the pic.
