As far as I know, all Cave mirrors were inscribed with the name of Cave on it and a serial number along with a date of manufacture. I can't remember exactly what is engraved on mine (it was made in 1973) or if he followed the same procedure in the early years. The picture looks like it was manufactured probably in the 70's or 80's. I do know that I've seen several postings on the internet of people who claim they have a Cave mirror (and are disappointed with it) when there are no engravings on the side of the mirror, indicating that it's not realy from Cave.
In the long run, it's a beautiful scope and the question is, are you happy with the quality of the optics?

: I just bought a Cave Astrola 10' f/6 scope with the chrome plated mount. The mirror is engraved and reads- Peck and Youngblood with # 0001. Is this a Cave mirror?
