German Equatorial Mount

I own a non-motorized german equatorial mount that I use with an 8" cave Astrola. I know nothing about the mount except that it's "big". I am in the process of refurbishing it, and I'd like to motorize it if possible. I'd like to know something about the model/brand, but there are no markings whatsoever.

Before I stripped the paint it was light brown with dark brown speckled paint job, The column tube is steel, but the rest of the parts are cast (possibly pewter?) Very shiny when buffed with a wire brush. It has three legs with round holes (presumably to reduce weight.)

I know it's not much to go on, but if this can begin a dialogue I'll appreciate it.
