I can't help myself I just have to stick my nose in. Any item is worth what the buyer is willing to pay for what ever reason but you are 100% right. This scope is priced at least 3 times the fair market value! Check the Telescope Bluebook site (membership required for $6) I think the average selling price is about $1200 to $1500. It lists the new price, the current market range and the average price as well as the numbner of samples found. The scope will just sit unless someone looses their mind and pays that much. keith
