I've longed for a cave telescope from my childhood. The prices back them were beyond what my newspaper route could support. I found this 10 inch f5 Deluxe scope on Astromart for $1200, which I think is a deal. It's in very good shape, the paint on the mount is original, although it does have a few scratches. The focuser has been moved rearward on the tube to accomodate prime focus photography, and then moved back, so I have an extra hole in the tube. Other than that the original Cave placard and the rest of the tube are in good shape. The optics have a wonderful figure, and I suspect the coatings are original, as they desperately need recoating. This picture was taken with the scope on my deck, where I do temporary observing until I complete the observatory.
