iya.jpg 2009 has been designated the International Year of Astronomy in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Galileo Galilei first turning a telescope to the sky. In celebration of IYA, the Omaha Astronomical Society will be hosting a number of events around the metro throughout the year.  We hope you'll come out and join us in discovering the night sky!
